Create recurring invoices
Recurring invoices reduce repetitive work for retainers, subscriptions, and repeat services. A recurring schedule stores the invoice template and creates future invoices at the chosen interval.
When to use a recurring invoice
- Monthly retainers with a stable amount and scope.
- Maintenance, hosting, or support billed on a regular interval.
- Repeat services where the client and line items remain consistent.
Create a recurring schedule
Recurring invoices are a Pro feature. Generated invoices still follow the normal invoice lifecycle, including email dispatch, hosted viewing, payment tracking, and reminders when enabled.
- 01
Open Recurring from the workspace menu.
- 02
Create a schedule and add the client, line items, currency, and payment terms.
- 03
Choose the interval and next issue date.
- 04
Review the schedule before activating it.
Review and manage the schedule
Check upcoming issue dates after changing a client agreement. Pause or update a schedule before the next run when the price, scope, recipient, or payment terms change.
