Accept invoice payments with Stripe
Stripe Connect lets each Invoice Reminder user receive client payments through their own connected Stripe account. Clients pay from the hosted invoice, while Stripe handles card data, verification, payouts, refunds, and disputes.
What happens when you connect Stripe
Invoice Reminder creates or resumes a connected account and sends you to Stripe-hosted onboarding. You provide your real business country, identity, business, and payout information directly to Stripe.
Invoice Reminder never asks you to paste a Stripe secret key into your user account. Card details also stay on Stripe-hosted checkout rather than passing through Invoice Reminder servers.
Complete Stripe-hosted onboarding

Open Payments and find Card payments.

Choose Connect Stripe and confirm the legal country of your business.

Complete Stripe identity, business, website, and payout requirements.

Return to Invoice Reminder and check that Card payments shows Active.
How client checkout works
When card payments are active, the invoice email links to a hosted invoice page. The client reviews the total, sees a fee breakdown when applicable, confirms the amount, and continues to Stripe Checkout.
A successful payment is created for the connected account. The connected business receives the net amount after Stripe processing, currency conversion, and any disclosed platform fee.
Manage verification and payouts
Use Manage account from the Payments page to open Stripe in a new tab. Return there when Stripe requests updated verification, a bank account change, or additional business information.

Frequently asked questions
Does my client pay Invoice Reminder?
No. The payment is processed for the user’s connected Stripe account. Invoice Reminder facilitates the checkout flow.
Does Invoice Reminder store card details?
No. Card details are collected by Stripe-hosted checkout and do not touch Invoice Reminder servers.
Why does Stripe ask for identity and bank information?
Stripe must verify the connected account and needs an eligible external account before payouts can be enabled.
